Summer’s tortured life has taught her many things. One: being a trans girl in a new age ‘trans world’ is less like being a barbie girl in a barbie world and more like being a lonely girl in a cruel world.  Two: had she killed her twin brother in the beginning, life would have been much simpler, happier. But killing your twin is a lot harder than one would think, having tried multiple times. But this this time, I won’t fail. This time, he will die. And three: Surviving is about keeping secrets … and doing whatever it takes to keep those secrets, no matter the cost to your heart, your mind, your soul.

Summer’s story may be tragic in many ways, but isn’t everybody’s? Those who doubt who they are, or maybe just don’t know who they are. Those who look in the mirror, and not only don’t like what they see, but don’t understand – or recognize – what they see. Those born with one name but live by another. Born one way yet live another way. Summer spent her entire childhood and teenage years staring at a stranger in the mirror. When she finally made the decision to split from her twin brother and live her life as the girl she always knew she was, she thought she had it all figured out. She had finally arrived. Happy for the first time in her life … but that’s not how her story goes …
