It’s 1941. Sixteen-year-old Brenda Mary is a brilliantly gifted artist with a promising future at London’s Royal Academy of Art and in love with a girl – Frankie - from one of America’s most prominent families. When Brenda learns of her family’s connection to a breathtaking, historical secret – one that connects some of the most influential women in history: Queen Elizabeth I, Helena and Mary Magdalene – being transgendered and gay are no longer her only secrets. Neither of which she can share with anyone, including her best friend, Aubrey Jean.

After witnessing the brutal murder of her best friend, Aubrey and Frankie, in their pursuit of vengeance, find themselves solving a trail of hidden clues Brenda left behind in Renaissance paintings, medieval gothic churches and Sunday school stories. Clues that bring to light a new history. One that begins with the supposed existence of the True Cross. But the True Cross may not be the unyielding source of power and healing history believes it to be.

In a dangerous journey from Los Angeles to the South of France and the Heart of London – while powerful and desperate adversaries shadow their every move – the pursuit of this explosive, ancient truth will uncover a secret legacy buried for nearly two-thousand years. An unimaginable truth that could restore the Davidic bloodline, reveal what it truly means to be transgender and bring healing to this devastated world … or bury it in darkness forever. A truth that – if they survive – just might transform their own hearts from beautifully dark secrets into beautifully enlightened pride.

Transgender author of BEAUTIFULLY DARK SECRETS OF THE HEARTS (95,000 words) is an LGBTQ Historical Thriller that can be summed up as "feelings while running" in the likes of Roshani Chokshi’s The Gilded Wolves, Dan Brown’s The DaVinci Code, and HBOMAX’s The Nevers. I have my BA in English Literature with a concentration in Creative Writing from Michigan State University and studied abroad in London. I am currently working on my third novel.
