Beautifully Dark Secrets of the Hearts Novel Cover

If you want to keep a secret, you must first hide it from yourself. And being a transgender teen in 1941, that was the only way Brenda knew how to survive. When a girl, Frankie, from one of America’s most powerful families catches her heart, not only is her secret threatened, but so is her life.

Deciphering clues and riddles left throughout history, Brenda journeys through Los Angeles, the South of France and the Heart of London, where she learns her secret is less about how she was born, but why. Connecting her to a mystery thousands of years old – the True Cross. A piece of wood – history says – from the cross Christ died upon with the ability to heal, possibly even raise the dead … but what if history is wrong?

As Brenda discovers the true meaning of the Cross – and herself – she leaves a trail of hidden codes and puzzles for Frankie to follow. Taking them on a journey that, if successful, will transform not only Christianity, but the entire transgender community. Revealing an unimaginable truth that has been standing in front of the world since the days of Mary Magdalene.

Transgender author’s BEAUTIFULLY DARK SECRETS OF THE HEARTS (95,000 words) is a Historical Romantic Thriller that can be summed up as "feelings while running" in the likes of Roshani Chokshi’s The Gilded Wolves and Dan Brown’s The DaVinci Code. I have my BA in English Literature with a concentration in Creative Writing from Michigan State University and studied abroad in London. I am currently working on my next novel.
